FUNctional Fitness class moves to the outdoors this spring! The objective of this 6-12 week program is to inspire and challenge you to maintain a consistent workout routine this summer! FUNctional Fitness is a beginner-to-intermediate class with a fusion of strength training and old-school calisthenics. The outdoors will be our gym for the one-hour class. It is designed to be a fun, moderate-paced, challenging, full-body workout.

Class Schedule & Location
There will be two, 6-week sessions. The spring session begins on

Classes are one hour in duration,
and meet once a week. Class starts promptly every Wednesday at
6:30pm.
Package Price
6-week session: $115
Register for both sessions: $220 (before April 28, 2008)
Drop in for a class, one time
only: $20 (must call in advance
to reserve a spot)
If class is not at capacity
after the start of a session, late registrations are welcomed
at a prorated price.

Class will meet in the southeast corner (Larrabee & Dickens) of Oz Park next to the Cowardly Lion sculpture.

Program Details
& Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect? Participants will meet at Oz Park. Arrive to class in your workout clothes. If you are coming from work and have personal belongings, you will have a secure place to store them for the duration of class.
Arrive early to insure you are ready to go at 6:30pm. Coach Vanessa will lead you through a 5-minute warm-up and give you an overview of the day’s workout goal. Coach will keep things lively by integrating push-ups, squats, lunges and other strength builders, including old school calisthenic drills designed to build cardiovascular endurance.
How is FUNctional Fitness class different than Bootcamp class?
FUNctional Fitness class is a beginner-intermediate class and starts in the park. Some running or jogging will be included, and exercises are at an intermediate level. Bootcamp is an advanced class and participants will be required to run 2-3 miles, including running to the park.
Where does class
meet?
The meeting site for class is at Oz Park in the southeast corner of Larrabee and Dickens street. Free street parking is available on all perimeter streets of Oz Park, metered parking on Halsted. The #11 Lincoln Ave bus stops at Webster. The #8 Halsted bus stops at Dickens, or the Brown & Purple line stop at Armitage is a 3 block walk.
What if the weather is bad
— how will I know if class is cancelled?
We will hold class in most weather, including rain, wind,
and heat. The class’s program will be adjusted to accommodate
these conditions. If class is cancelled due to extreme conditions, participants will be contacted by email 90 minutes prior to class. Class will be rescheduled for the next day — Thursday.

cancelled.
